“Heroes 4 Heroes” Family Day Festival begins at 12:00pm
Miami Tunnel “Heroes 4 Heroes” 5K Run/Walk & Climb kicks off exactly at 7:00 pm at the Starting Line
How far is the 5K Run & Walk portion?
This is a 5K (3.1 miles). You are welcome to walk or run this event.
Do I have to run AND climb?
No, you do not! Participants can either run or walk & climb, or a combination of both.
What are the entrance fees and is there a fundraising minimum?
Adult 5K Run & Climb: $50
Adult 5K ONLY: $45
Youth 5K Run & Climb (12-17y/o): $35
Youth 5K ONLY (12-17y/o): $25
Participants 11 years of age & under are: Free – T-shirt not included. Cannot participate in Climb portion.
FUNDRAISING MINIMUM IS $50.00
When is the deadline to register for the Miami “Heroes 4 Heroes” 5K event?
Online registration will close at midnight on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. You may register in person on either dates of the packet pick-up or on the day of the event, Saturday September 15, 2018 from 12:00pm- 4:30pm Bayfront Park. (Look for the registration tent near the center fountain at the promenade).
How do we register our company team if paying by check?
We will provide the Team Captain with a code that he or she will need to provide to each team member, who will then enter it when registering online. No credit card information will be required. Please note that codes cannot be issued until payment is received, so you will need to confirm the number of team members in advance. Please contact info@unitedbadgesofhonor.com if you plan to pay by company check.
Can I get a refund? Can I transfer my registration?
Unfortunately, ALL SALES ARE FINAL, and we do not allow refunds. However, you may transfer your registration to another participant. For instructions on how to transfer your registration please contact info@unitedbadgesofhonor.com
Can I get a timing chip?
Timing chip registrations are available. If you wish to participate for time, you must register for the appropriate category that states, “with Chip”.
Where should participants meet and what time must they be checked in?
Registered participants must be checked-in by no later than 4:30 pm. All registered participants must meet in Bayfront Park in front of the Main Stage.
What time do the Opening Ceremonies begin?
Opening Ceremonies will commence promptly at 4:30 pm in Bayfront Park at the Main Stage to include: Presentation of Colors, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, Possible Fly-over by Homestead Air Force Base and VIP Guest Speakers.

Will there be parking?
There are multiple parking lots in the area that charge a flat rate fee and are in walking distance to the park.
I’m a first responder, firefighter, law enforcement officer or military personnel: Can I wear my bunker/turnout gear, uniform, SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), etc.?
Yes. We encourage you ALL uniformed personnel to wear their respective gear or uniform.
NO air packs (SCBA) will be allowed inside the Tunnel but may be donned at the building for the Climb.
If I am not a first responder, can I or my child wear a Super Hero Costume?
YES. We invite the community to wear their favorite superhero costume (NO MASK) or cape and join our local real-life Heroes in this honorable event. we encourage (NO MASKS OF ANY KIND WILL BE ALLOWED!!!!)
Is there shuttle or transportation service to the STARTING Line?
YES. We will have shuttle services to transport all registered participants to the starting line. ALL registered participants must be at Bayfront Park no later than 5:45pm if you are not going to attend the Opening Ceremonies. Shuttles will promptly depart Bayfront Park at 6:00pm. Any participant arriving after the shuttles have departed will have waived their rights and will not be allowed to participate in the 5K series.
Do I have to wear my bib number?
Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment. Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. This precaution is for the safety of the participants and to ensure that only Miami Tunnel “Heroes 4 Heroes” 5K Run/Walk & Climb affiliated participants are at this event.
I am a fast runner. Can I get a front-line position?
Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral. Please note this in your registration where it is prompted. (Arrive early)
Will water be available?
Yes, water stations will be available throughout the course of the race.
What can you bring to the event? Can I run with a stroller, backpack, wheelchair, roller blades, bicycle, etc.?
Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. No roller blades, backpacks, fanny packs or camel packs will be allowed at the race nor inside the tunnel at the Port of Miami. NO MASK OF ANY KIND WILL BE ALLOWED. All items should be stored securely at the owner’s risk. United Badges of Honor Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.
If I have a backpack, what do I do with it?
You may secure it inside your vehicle or you may check it in at our Bag Check-In Tent which will be at Bayfront Park.
Is there a bag check?
Yes. There will be a Bag Check-In Tent at Bayfront Park
Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
How can my company/organization sponsor this event?

FUNDRAISING:
Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?
Registration fees help offset some of the expenses associated with making the Miami Tunnel “Heroes 4 Heroes” 5K Run/Walk & Climb one of the greatest annual events, however your fundraising efforts enable us to continue supporting and assisting our Local South Florida Heroes. Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal on crowdrise.com.
As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?
Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page and you will be able to accept donations online. Donations will be accepted on the day of the event as well using any payment method such as: credit/debit cards, checks or cash. Thank you!!
Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?
Yes. Donations will be accepted for 8 weeks after the event.
Is any portion of my entry fee tax-deductible?
No. The entry fee helps cover the cost of producing the Miami Tunnel “Heroes 4 Heroes” 5K Run/Walk & Climb and includes a participant t-shirt. Therefore, fundraising is important! All donations made or raised above and beyond your entry fee are tax-deductible fully allowed by law.

Do I have to be registered in the 5K portion to attend the Family Day Festival?
No. We invite everyone to participate in this festival and enjoy an afternoon filled with activities, demonstrations, exhibits, food, music and much more for the entire family.
