BEFORE
Before opening RaceTime in 2016, Ruben Figueredo, was a competitive triathlete and runner. While racing in 10-12 races per year throughout the State of Florida and beyond, Ruben was involved timing and scoring over 15 races a year. From road cycling gran fondos with over 3000 riders, to road races with over 25,000 participants, Ruben was fortunate to see the development, management, and execution of large world class race events throughout Southeastern USA. From 2012, Ruben was involved with all kinds of endurance races including triathlons, road cycling race, gran fondos, road races, open water swims, obstacle course races, and charity 5Ks.
BUILDING
Moving back down to his hometown of Miami, after graduating from UCF with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Ruben knew what it took to create a better race experience for athletes of all levels. Racing events needed to attract elite athletes while still catering to beginners and youth athletes. An experience that works for everyone needed to include easy online race registration, safe and simple course routes, and instantly accessible accurate results and scoring. Being highly interested in technology and the internet, Ruben began to build RaceTime as a 21st century race company.
BEGINNING
As the first year of RaceTime came along, 2017 showed what was missing in the South Florida race market in every step of racing events. The RaceTime tech revolution: get rid of paper registration completely, ensure that safety is the priority of the race course, and finally get rid of paper results completely. Cutting out paper did not only reduce each event’s carbon footprint, but also reduced participant data entry errors, reduced participant wait time for results/scoring, and created an interactive online race experience.
MOVING FORWARD
We will continue to provide accurate results, safe race courses, and friendly faces every race morning for all RaceTime supported events. From August 2019 and on, all RaceTime events will be directed by a Certified Race Director by the Road Runners Club of America. From October 2019 and on, RaceTime will distribute and service all Macsha Timing systems for Race Timers in the US. Our dedication to the endurance community will continue spreading for all athletes, race organizers, and race timers that are part of the RaceTime journey. We thank you for joining us.
